Chris started recording under the moniker "Our
Own Somewhere" in 2000 to satiate the desire to have complete
creative control in a band situation. He bought an 8-track cassette machine and
recorded a full-length CD entitled "...is right here." That album was
released on Has Anyone Ever Told
You? in 2001.
After a 4-year hiatus, Our
Own Somewhere released a 4-song EP entitled "Wherever You Go"
in 2005. This time, Chris recorded in a proper studio at maximum volume, which
means, among other things, that he got a better drum sound.
In May 2007, Chris released a full-length CD entitled "The Day I Realized I Might Not Make It." Eleven songs of introspection, this is Chris' first release under his own name. While not a concept album, "The Day.." has a singular running theme throughout: coming of age and the realization that follows. At the time of this writing, Chris is almost 33 years old. This is an age which one tends to realize that life might not work out the way it was planned. For better or for worse, life is what it is. Learning to deal with that is the difficult part. This record is outlet for the frustration and disappointment that life brings. This is Chris' way of dealing with it.

Chris has been in a number of Austin bands since 1996. Most notably, he played
drums in The
Search For Saturnalia (1997-2001), Drowners Sailing (1999-2000), and bass in We
Talked About Murder (2000-2004). He's also played bass in Pressure in Time, Orion and 12 Points to a Pica.
Currently, he's back on drums in
Beta
Valentine and he's playing guitar and doing the vocals for the solo band he's started with some friends. Chris started Has
Anyone Ever Told You? with his wife Jennifer
